The Department of Medicine has established a research program
for medical housestaff with sufficient time given to house
officers to participate in patient-oriented research in the
laboratories and research projects of faculty. A mentoring
program is provided for interested residents directed by
Alan Charney, MD. A webbased listing of research projects
is available at http://www.resweb.med.nyu.edu,

Monthly grand rounds are co-sponsored with many departments
and divisions. Investigators are encouraged to attend. A
list of seminars can be found at http://calendar.med.nyu.edu.
The GCRC Nurse Manager with the assistance of the GCRC Informatics
Core Manager established the Association of Research Coordinators,
ARC. ARC was created to provide a forum for research nurses
and study coordinators to meet at an institutional level,
discuss pertinent issues in clinical research and attempt
to facilitate and improve the conduct of clinical research
at NYU School of Medicine. A web page (http://arc.med.nyu.edu)
and an email list have been developed to support the educational
