The GCRC is pleased to announce the following funding opportunities:
- The NCRR supports mentored patient-oriented research
career development awards under the K23 program. These awards support
clinically trained
physicians and dentists to develop clinical research skills required
to gain experience
in advanced clinical research methods and experimental approaches. They
provide funding for salary support, supplies,
and other research-related needs. More information can be obtained by

- Clinical Research Feasibility Funds (CReFF) Program:
GCRC grant funds are available to support pilot studies. Eligibility
is limited.
The CReFF awards could be up to $20,000 for one-year renewable projects.
The GCRC grant, in FY 4/1/08-3/31/09, is supporting 1 recipient.
- Mentored Medical Student Clinical Research (MMSCR)
Program: The GCRC will provide support for a medical student who
would take time
off from medical school to engage in a mentored program of up to
one year of supervised participation in clinical research, didactic
coursework related to patient-oriented research, and/or acquisition
of laboratory skills that can be applied to patient-oriented clinical
research efforts. The GCRC grant, in FY 4/1/08-3/31/09, is supporting
1 medical student with a salary of $20,000 .

The deadline for applying for the CReFF and MMSCR programs is
January 1, 2008 to begin April 1, 2008.
