The GCRC is a unique part of overlapping, complex institutions: the
affiliated hospitals, the medical school, and the National Institutes of
Health, NCRR M01 RR00096, GCRC Program. Deborah Keeling is the
Administrative Director (AD) and works directly with the administrators of
all institutions and serves as a liaison between them and the GCRC Advisory
Committee. It is important that the administrative and nursing staffs be
kept informed of any changes, developments and addenda in all protocols.
The AD plans and executes the administration of the General Clinical
Research Center (GCRC). This includes planning, arranging, developing and
monitoring the administrative and financial systems of the GCRC and its
associated infrastructure. Areas of responsibility include institutional
coordination, finance, grantsmanship and personnel.
The AD is one of the GCRC's primary resources in supporting the goals of
the center. This is accomplished by overseeing the operations of the center
and its primary function of research and patient care. The AD also works
closely with the numerous departments of these institutions: Business
Office, Human Resources, Purchasing, Grants and Contracts, and patient
accounting.
